A dog’s bark is part of their normal and natural communication and behavior. Dogs will bark for appropriate and good reasons, to alert us of a stranger’s approach, to deter potential intruders, or when they hear an odd noise. However, ongoing, chronic and unnecessary barking is a problem. It not only affects the home of the dog, but spreads out to disrupt neighbors and communities.
The PetSafe Bark Control Collar was designed to safely and effectively eliminate this behavior problem. It has multiple features to make the training phase as effective as possible and break the excessive barking habit permanently.
Perfect Bark Technology
“Perfect Bark” is a sensor that provides the most effective bark detection on the market. Similar products are triggered by either sound or vibration. Both can be falsely triggered events other than your dog’s bark. The Bark Control Collar uses dual-detection (both sound and vibration) to discriminate each bark from other external disturbances. A static electricity correction charge is administered if both the vibration from the vocal chords and the sound from the bark match.
Temperament Learning System
The Bark Control Collar utilizes the “Temperament Learning System.” This design customizes across many dog breeds and their various barking styles. The Bark Control Collar contains software that tracks the number of corrections needed to substantially reduce – and usually eliminate – the number of nuisance barks.
10 auto-adjusting correction levelsThe system uses ten correction levels. It will start your dog with lower-level charges. But if the barking continues, the intensity will increase with the barking until your dog stops. Once the dog has learned to reduce the barking, the initial warning corrections are reduced. Finally, as a safety feature, if your dog barks 15 times or more within a 1 minute and 20 second time period, the Bark Control Collar will shut down for three minutes.
